Leadership in Service
I – Leaders in service must be held, and hold themselves, to higher standards than those appointed below them.
II – Leaders in service must accept complete responsibility for themselves and those appointed below them.
III – Leaders in service must place the wellbeing of their subordinates above their own whenever possible and appropriate.
IV – Leaders in service must be willing to share the work and risks of their subordinates.
V – Leaders in service must never direct a subordinate to undertake a task they themselves would not do.
VI – Leaders in service must pass credit to their subordinates while accepting responsibility for failure.
VII – Leaders in service must be willing, when necessary, to place mission accomplishment above personal safety and the safety of their subordinates, provided the mission sustains the Common Good.
VIII – Leadership in service must be earned continuously through action, example, and persistence.
