Faith and Science

I – Faith and science are complementary modes of seeking truth and are not mutually exclusive.

II – Faith expresses humanity’s search for meaning through belief, interpretation, and moral orientation.

III – Science advances humanity’s understanding through the systematic collection, use, integration, contextualization, creation, and transmission of empirical information.

IV – The possibility of God does not conflict with the principles or methods on which science is founded.

V – The principles and methods of science do not disprove the possibility of God.

VI – Those Who Muse accepts the necessity of both Faith and science in humanity’s ongoing search for meaning and understanding.

VII – Those Who Muse accepts that Faith, understanding, and moral reasoning are informed by insights drawn from both philosophy and science.

VIII – Those Who Muse accept that the continued persistence and advancement of humanity are strengthened by the combined contributions of Faith and science.
