Classification of Information

I – For information to be effectively used the nature of that information must be understood.

II – Information may originate from Within or from Without.

III – Information may be collected through various methods each influencing its reliability and interpretation.

IV – Information varies in nature and complexity and must be understood in those terms.

V – Information may be verifiable through repeatable testing or may remain unverifiable at a given time.

VI – Information may contain biases arising from its nature its collection or its interpretation.

VII – The careful evaluation of information based on these criteria is beneficial the Common Good and to the individual.
